Hi, I'm Erica, and welcome to Pacific Poppy Sourdough!

I started Pacific Poppy here in West Seattle, in the heart of the Alaska Junction. The name is a tribute to my late father and a celebration of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest that I feel lucky to call home.

When I first started baking sourdough, I quickly realized that making the bread was often easier than figuring out how to get started. I spent countless hours piecing together information from blogs, videos, and recipes, wishing there was one place that explained everything without all the guesswork.

When my aunt asked me to teach her, I put together a guide with everything I had learned—the instructions, baking schedule, tips, and answers to the questions I wished someone had answered for me. It was a stack of laminated 8.5×11 hooked together; that guide eventually became the inspiration for my all-in-one sourdough starter kits.

My goal is simple: to make sourdough approachable, enjoyable, and a little less intimidating so you can spend less time researching and more time baking.

Pacific Poppy is a family effort, with my incredibly supportive husband, Dillon, and our very handsome mascot, Buzz (short for Buzz Lightyear), helping behind the scenes.

Thank you for supporting my small business. I hope my kits help you discover just how rewarding homemade sourdough can be!
